Year One STEM

Welcome to Far, Far Away, home of Shrek and other famous friends.  Year One have dived straight into the action and already helped Shrek in lots of ways! 

On day one, we received a message from Shrek explaining that Donkey had broken the bridge. It was up to us to design and build a new one that was rigid and strong. We even tested the strength and flexibility by driving a remote controlled Sphereo over it!

Next, Shrek was thirsty and needed us to create him a tasty new 'Bogey Bottle' drink! The children loved watching the bottle fizz and wrote up the instructions into their English books!

Then it was on to investigating levers. The children created a split pin crocodile, with the pin acting as a lever in the middle, allowing the character to be able to open and close it's jaws!
