Year 2's Visit from Newcastle University

This week, Newcastle University came to teach Year 2 all about germs and bacteria!

We learnt about STEM careers and the different types of scientists that children could aspire to be. Children took part in activities that involved making their hands glow using UV hand wash to help understand the importance of washing their hands. 

They also got to experience what it is like to be a microbiologist viewing bacteria (inactive) using microscopes. Children thoroughly enjoyed dressing up in PPE and discussing what other scientists may look like.
