Writing in Year One

This half term, Year One have been using the Old Bear stories as a stimulus for writing.  We've learned lots about the characters and enjoyed listening to their adventures.

This week we've been using the word 'and' in our writing. We've worked practically to use an 'and' card to join two simple phrases.  Using this understanding, we then wrote simple sentences into our books and extended them with 'and'.
