Year 3 Week 4: Magnet Magic

Today in science, our class became magnet investigators as we tested how strong different magnets are. We carried out an exciting experiment to see how far away a magnet could be and still pick up a paper clip.

First, we placed a paper clip on the table. Then, we slowly moved the magnet closer and closer. When the paper clip jumped up to the magnet, we measured the distance using a ruler. We recorded our results carefully and compared them with our friends’ findings.

We discovered that some magnets were much stronger than others and could pick up the paper clip from further away! This helped us learn that magnet strength can be tested by measuring distance.
