Victorian Classroom Experience - Year 2
On Monday morning as Year 2 children entered the classroom they noticed that some of their normal routines and procedures had been replaced by Victorian tasks.
Children commented on how the boys and girls had been separated, chalk was used instead of pencils and they were referred to by their surname. When they heard their name called out on the register, they paid their penny into a pot on the teacher's desk. Some children said they felt confused, shocked and a little bit scared, especially upon learning about the straps and canes…
After discussing their new topic, the Vile Victorians, children created some questions that they would like to find out during the course of this half term.
