Share a Story Month - Reception
Francesca excitedly explained why she loved this particular story:
"Can I show you something really exciting? Look at this... At the start, Winnie's house is all black and dark and she can't see her black cat Wilbur so she keeps standing on him. Winnie waves her wand five times and says the magic word to turn him into a rainbow cat. Wilbur hides in a tree but all the birds laugh at him. But my favourite part is at the end when Winnie turns her house bright and colourful and Wilbur can be a black cat again!"
This fun picture book is a favourite in EYFS. Thanks for this wonderful review, Francesca!

Hi, I'm Ivy and I'm going to tell you about Dear Dinosaur written by Chae Strathie and illustrated by Nicola O'Byrne.
Ivy showed how much fun an interactive lift-the-flap book can be to share with an adult.
"I liked this book because it is about a cute dinosaur that lives in a museum. A little boy visits the dinosaurs at the museum and has lots of questions to ask so he writes letters to the dinosaur and guess what... he writes back! So the little boy sends him lots of different types of letters and cards and he just keeps writing back. It made our class laugh a lot."
This story is told through letters, birthday cards, postcards, emails and special notes with inviting flaps to lift. A great story to share in EYFS! Thanks for this amazing detailed review, Ivy!
This week, I received a wonderful handwritten review from Poppy.
Poppy said ‘I like this book because it shows you new people from all around the world doing different things like having breakfast. I then draw and write what I normally have for breakfast. I like the look of the Vietnamese breakfast, I could eat those eggs for my breakfast sometimes.I think people in reception would like this book.’
This would be a wonderful book for families in EYFS and KS1. It will provoke lots of discussion opportunities.
Thank you Poppy for this fantastic review.
