Reception - Fire Pit & Fire Safety

This week to mark Bonfire Night, Reception lit the fire pit. They watched an adult strike the match away from their body to keep safe, talked about why metal was used for the fire pit and talked about who to call in an emergency. Children learnt about ‘kindling’, ‘logs’, ‘firelighters’ and ‘flammable’ things. 

In class, the hot chocolate roleplay has been very popular! Lots of orders for hot chocolates, marshmallows and gingerbread.
