Museum of the Moon

Reception had a wonderful lunar trip to the Abbey today to visit the Museum of the Moon. The Abbey staff asked children to share their thoughts about the moon. Some said it was a sphere and that it had craters, whilst others said they loved the moon! 

Children listened to a story about animal silhouettes under the light of the moon, then took their clipboards to draw under the exhibit. They added giraffes, dinosaurs and ducks and all sorts of different creatures.

Hexham Abbey have also asked Sele First to contribute to their collection of stars which will decorate the Abbey ceiling soon. You might want to visit in order to spot your decorated star high up on the ceiling!
