Minibeasts in the garden

Reception are swiftly becoming minibeast experts! This week, they made brilliant leaf books writing facts about caterpillars and butterflies. Did you know caterpillars shed their skin 3 times?

Outside, children have found multiple minibeasts - water spiders, ladybirds, ants and spiders.

In Art, Reception learnt about symmetry and printed symmetrical butterfly wings. They used a concertina folding method to turn these into butterflies for our working wall.

On Friday, we released the first butterfly from our net!
