London's Burning - Poetry Y2
As part of our Great Fire of London topic, linked to this year's Take One Picture, Y2 explored the language and lyrics of the well-known song London's Burning.
Y2 decided to follow the structure of the lyrics to create their own version. They thought about syllables and repeated phrases used to build rhythm.
Children were so engaged. They performed in small groups or to the whole class highlighting their knowledge of the events that took place in 1666.
