Firefighters and Wellbeing Wednesday in Reception

On Wednesday, Reception took part in a Wellbeing day across school, a special day focused on supporting emotional health and relaxation. They brought in a favourite teddy and enjoyed practising some peer and teddy massage with their friends. We had class yoga sessions and wrote positive notes to friends and family, celebrating the people who make us feel happy.

We also continued our topic on ‘People Who Help Us’, with a particular focus on firefighters. The children learned about the important role firefighters play in keeping us safe. Children also learnt about the importance of inclusivity and equality in STEM roles. The ‘Redraw the Balance’ campaign aims to inspire everyone to follow their choice of career, regardless of gender stereotypes. Children drew pilots, firefighters and doctors who were male and female and all different.
