All About Hexham

This week, Reception talked all about their local area - Hexham! They drew maps of their route to school, including bridges, shops, hills and garden gates.  Children  described their journey, writing in simple sentences. They compared Hexham landmarks to those in London, including The London Eye and Tower Bridge. 

They used directional language and symbols to program robots around floor maps.

In Maths, everyone investigated numbers 11-20 and discussed how these numbers were made with 'ten and ...' Numicon worked brilliantly for this.
